Strength in Weakness
Greetings!
With the recent departure of our beloved Pastor Chris Coon we took time last Sunday to name and reflect upon our losses over recent years and to acknowledge that we are grieving individually and as a community. We looked at Psalm 44 and found that Scripture encourages us to grieve together with each other as our Lord yearned to have others with Him as He grieved in the Garden of Gethsemane. We also learned from the Psalm that during our seasons of grief God can feel distant and we need to be with each other to remind each other of God's abundant blessings and tender mercies. We then took time to name God's many blessings and mercies that we have received over the years both individually and as a congregation and to express our gratitude to God for these many gifts.
This coming Sunday we will look at 2nd Corinthians 12:2-10 which reveals that we have 'Strength in Weakness." It is not in our strengths where we lean into God but it is in our weaknesses where we learn to lean into God and it is those very places where we are actually the strongest as we become wholly dependent upon the Divine power and strength of God Almighty.
